Excel ROUNDDOWN Function Syntax and Example

Microsoft Excel ROUNDDOWN Function
The Microsoft Excel ROUNDDOWN function returns a number rounded down to a specified number of digits. (Always rounds towards 0.)
Syntax: 
=ROUNDDOWN(number,num_digits) 

Example: 


NUMBER
ROUNDDOWN
RESULT
1234.1234
 =ROUNDDOWN(A2,0)
1234
1234.1234
 =ROUNDDOWN(A3,1)
1234.1
1234.1234
 =ROUNDDOWN(A4,2)
1234.12
1234.1234
 =ROUNDDOWN(A5,3)
1234.123
