How to Change Excel Column Headings Showing Numbers to Alphabets

How to Change Excel Column Headings from RIC1 Style 1,2,3 to A,B,C
Sometimes you may see R1C1 reference style even you didn’t change any settings. If you didn’t turn that option on, may be someone sent you a workbook, and that’s the first Excel file that you opened today as shown below.

Turn R1C1 Reference Style On or Off
Open a workbook, If it has letters in the column headings like 1,2,3.., then you can change the reference style back to A1 as follows.

In Excel 2007/ Excel 2010:
  1. At the left end of the Ribbon, click the File tab, then click Options.
  2. Click the Formulas category.
  3. In the Working with Formulas section, add or remove the check mark of 'R1C1 reference style'
  4. Click OK to close the Options window.

Now the Headings style back to A1 as follows :
